Assassin's Creed II Pre-orders Topping Original

Ubisoft hopes the sequel leads to bigger sales over the first title.

Revealed during Ubisoft's Q2 investor call this morning, CEO Yves Guillemot said pre-order sales for Assassin's Creed II are 80 percent higher than the original title.

"We are waiting to see how this translates to an increase in sales," he said. "It's an interesting number, but it doesn't give you all the information."

Guillemot also added the publisher hopes to sell around 15 percent more in total sales than the original title.
