Pokemon Pop on Wii

No Virtual Console update this week? Stem your tears, for in place of the regular smattering of retro cookies, Nintendo has baked a fresh dish for your delectation in the shape of two new Wii Ware titles available in the UK this week.

My Pokemon Ranch allows you to upload creatures from the DS's Diamond and Pearl versions onto the Wii to pester with your Mii, and…. That seems to be the gist of it, with little else that could possibly call itself a game there for your 1,000 Wii Points. It incurred the full wrath of our reviewers when it popped into their office, and was sent packing by the team with a scream of '4' as it left the door.

For 700 Wii Points you can acquire Pop, a simple title that sees you pointing your remote at onscreen bubbles and giving them a gentle squeeze to make them explode. While that all sounds perfectly relaxing, whether it has any lasting ability remains to be seen, and our lukewarm US review suggests that maybe it hasn't.
