The Sims Sells 100 Million Units

Apparently there are a lot of Sims fans out there.

Electronic Arts announced that the Sims Franchise has sold over 100 million [doctorevil_face] units worldwide. The biggest selling PC franchise, which places controllable families in virtual dollhouses, has been sold in 22 different languages across 60 different countries.

The Sims franchise encompasses the Sims and the Sims 2 with dozens of expansions. The Sims 3 was recently confirmed for a global 2009 launch.

As sort of a commemorative thank you for this milestone, Electronic Arts has announced it will be giving The Sims 2 players a chance to download an exclusive outfit for their Sims on April 16th via TheSims2.com.
