Super Mario Galaxy Arriving First in Japan

A couple of weeks means a lot when waiting to play a new Mario game.

Can't wait to get your hands on the true sequel to Super Mario 64? Well if you're really excited about Super Mario Galaxy, and if you've got 25,000 yen sitting around somewhere, we'd suggest picking up a Japanese Wii.

As hinted at in previous developer interviews (see last week's Gaming Life in Japan), Super Mario Galaxy's Japanese release will precede the American one. The US version comes out on November 12th. A Japanese retailer reports today that the Japanese version will hit a bit before that, opening up the month on November 1st.

Nintendo has spent years on this one, so either way you play it, we're sure you'll have a blast. We'll have final impressions and more leading up to the November releases.
