Madden 08 Countdown: Weapons Loaded

Madden NFL 08 is only three weeks away, and we couldn't be more excited for the upcoming release. Let's face it, the first two next-gen Madden's felt a little light on features and gameplay mechanics. It was like the series was treading water until Tiburon could deliver the goods. On August 14 those goods will be delivered with the first truly worthy Madden game in the past three years. To celebrate, we're counting down to the August 14 release of Madden with new features every day.''

Weapons Ratings

''Madden NFL 08 still uses the same rating system we've become familiar with to determine a player's general abilities. However, as an added tweak, Weapons classes have been added. If a player has a Weapon, it means they are particularly good in an area and gets an added bonus beyond what's seen in their stats. A Big Hitter, for example, lays more punishing blows and is more likely to cause fumbles with the Hit Stick.''

''We've assembled a list of every weapons category and every player with that classification. As you can see, some players have multiple weapons -- and many players have none. It should be noted that Hall of Fame players (all available for importing into Franchise Mode) also have weapons ratings.''
