Twilight Princess Slips

The GameCube's last hurrah will now arrive later than its Wii counterpart.

During its Q & A session with members of the press following today's conference, Nintendo revealed that the GameCube version of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess will not be released at the same time as the Wii version. Instead the final GameCube game is scheduled to hit retailers across North America December 11.

Previously, Nintendo had asserted that both versions of the game would be in stores simultaneously. It isn't clear whether the GameCube version of the game required more development time or whether this was a deliberate move on Nintendo's part to position Twilight Princess as the Wii's premier launch title. Currently, the GameCube version of the game is only scheduled to be released in North America.
